That is putting it mildly - the grief that we get at work when there is an update to IE is unbelievable, especially as we are tied to using web portals that will only work with IE.

Google Chrome is another option, seems to work better than IE.

At my previous job, I had a pc that I had no control over, had to have IE. :( The other pc I had, I had complete admin control of and that quickly had IE removed from my sight and Firefox put in pride of place :) Less glitchy, much better to use!

I suggest joining another forum that uses the same Xenforo software as GC and then when you experience any problem here, check whether it's replicated on the 'other' forum so you'll know who/what might be to blame - that's what I've done.

Haven't ever bothered checking as that has never seemed to affect me using EI 10.

That's because despite all the advice that's constantly given to clear cache, cookies, change browser, etc., etc., I've always simply waited a while for it to start working again without having to go through all those shenanigans.

            That's always worked for me.

              :dons the Nike running shoes:

I'm here, hiding under my tin hat :snork:

I've recently been made the local admin for my site, which means that I have full admin access on all the antiques PC's - - Firefox or Chrome installed on all, as well as CCleaner and Defraggler, and mainly just to make my life easier. Any that have Windows 7 installed have been donated a memory stick from the stationary supplier, which is then configured for readyboost - not ideal, but better than nothing and keeps the users quiet.

Well, I'd just like to thank everyone for all their help. I thought I'd give it a day or two to see if it 'sorted itself out' (the equivalent of turning it off and on again!). Today everything seems to be working OK, but whilst I'm sure using Firefox or Google Chrome would solve the problem, it was in attempting to use Firefox that started all the problems in the first place.

Should it happen again, my responsible young person reminded me that I have a long-forgotten hotmail account which I've re-activated and I'll join again using that.

So, just wanted to say a huge thank you everyone:ThankYou:
