It seems to be starting http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-23064887

So perhaps time for another Glastonbury reminiscence. When I parked up on the Creep Ground Field in 1987 I didn't reverse all the way back to the hedge boundary with The Green Field, but was somewhat surprised when a bender was put up between the back of my vehicle and the hedge, but the bender crew were caught out by the smell that kept coming from my toilet compartment at the rear when in use and (overheard thought the ventilation grille) they thought somebody had poo'd in the hedge, and looking through the vent saw them poking around in it with sticks looking for the source of the smell.

There's a steady rain down here now, won't be good at Pilton if it carries on.

Festivals don't do it for me. Apart from my morbid fear of portaloos, the fear of my tent being washed away doesn't inspire me! That's why I didn't go to Download this year, although I would have loved to.

Not pleasant at the best of times, I'd hate to experience one after 3 days of non-stop beer drinking!! :eeew:

I'd always used get a really good tan at festivals whatever the weather, but the trouble was that it would wash off when I got back home.

Hi Freddy, I am sure they probably did.. On both occasions our tent was not far from the farmhouse, which was jolly handy  I worked part time for IT (International Times) then run by Mick Farren who also had quite a hand in the 1st 2 festivals there..

This was my favourite year.. Seemed so much simpler & free-er in 1970 if you get my meaning.. My then BF & now husband went to school with Keith Christmas & long friends, plus he used to play at the Village Pump regularly & of course Quintessence were there both years.. Plus a lot of others but I cannot remember the names

Then in '71 I got not just see but also met Melanie & Joan Baez..!! An important influence on me at that time.. Fairport were there too, always loved them.. Even Bowie was there but I was not a huge fan I am sorry to say Zigs.. Edgar Broughton or the Pink Fairies for OH, well yes..

            Wonderful years

Looking at the rain now, I am so glad I am here & they are there..... ;)

Unfortunately, these days I'm only likely to be up to attending a Garlic Festival.
