You're most welcome Reetgood. :) It's a shame your rose has been damaged. You could put netting round but it's a bit of hassle. I break in half and push some of the small green garden canes into the ground about six inches apart and about the same in height creating a barrier about two or three deep, it stops them from leaving there calling card too. I do the same for my pots and planters during the winter when they are empty.

      :dunno:

I'll pop outside (when I'm decent) with my tape measure and find out :) I'm hopeless at measuring things by eye, but, I'm guessing mine is more likely "Ballerina" now.

Argh it's so close. First rose on my first rose.

It pretty much is that neon. Silver jubilee, coming up much more vibrant colour than I expected. Can't wait for it to open. Think I need more roses so I stop obsessing about this one.

The second rose is unusual Armandii, it could easily be mistaken for a Paeony flower. :)

You're right, Sheal. The rose is about 20 years old and, to my shame, it has deteriorated regarding flowering over the years due to my policy of not feeding any roses near the pond,. and that is one, in case the feed enters the water and causes problems. However, this year I decided to feed all the roses very carefully with General Feed until buds showed and then use Tomato Feed which has definitely triggered this rose to flower.

This is peering through the trellis we share with our neighbour and is starting to flower well. The evening sun made it glow and I thought I would share it with you.
I'm sure my neighbour won't mind

Yes it is Sheal but I don't know it's name. It is prone to powdery mildew later on unfortunately.
