Lots of super piccies coming in now from everyone. This warm spell has caused Mother Nature to get her act together at last.
        1) Fuchsia "Deltas Sarah"

        2) The Giant Fuchsia collection from T and M - more variety now. I can dig out a label if there's anything there that you like

And now the Britain in Bloom judging is over, my husband has started to plunder the salad stuff tonight. There is a ripe Maskota hiding in there...

And salad leaves and spring onions from the raised bed with 4 Maskotka toms which were very sweet

Yesterday's was a fleeting 10 minute affair for Battle in Bloom as there are a lot of sites to cover. I wasn't here when it took place. They do not comment and the town won't know it's rating until Autumn.
Today, the SE Britain in Bloom judging was a one and a half hour, more detailed event. We were entering for a new Award, "The best of the best" and were among 4 other towns which had also entered. Our housing group entered separately for a "It's your neighbourhood" category - hence the communal growing of lettuce, tomatoes ,spring onions and runner beans for all the neighbours to share.!!
I understand the lady judge was pleasant, very knowledgable, helpful and gave good advice very freely. I wasn't around as I work in the Hospice on a Thursday. Again, no opinion expressed either way. Results will be in Autumn.
A little more rain would have set the communal lawn off as a green backdrop instead of a green and yellow streaked one but it will be the same for everyone.
                Thanks for your interest GA,
                Jenny

The hanging basket has a lovely balanced combi Simbad. I get so annoyed if one chosen specimen goes silly and tries to dominate the basket...
