    Well you live and learn I'd no idea that Day Lilies can grow knashers, Eight miles high certainly fills the eye!

        That's it! I've decided - I am going dahlia daft next year! I just love the different varieties, and especially the large showy blooms.

          They are fabtastic mate, loves 'em I do. The amount of different varieties and colours is incredible. ESP the large cactus and Pom Pom types. They are up there with lilies for me.

            The Crambe cordifolia has gone-over, but it still looks pretty dramatic :)

              Kristen, the cordifolia certainly looks dramatic but I wouldn't want to come across it on a dark night :heehee:

              That's not Veronicastrum as Veronicastrum has much more interesting leaf formation.

              It makes for a good plant even when it's not in flower as the leaves look so good.

              It's another one of the rewarding plants that needs quite a lot of space. This is just one plant.

              This time of year our garden is in between its colourful phases with not much in flower. Most of the white plants have gone over (apart from Annabelle who is just strutting her stuff) and the others are only just starting.

              Although the white flowers have now finished some can still have a place in the garden. When these have gone over properly I shall cut them off and reduce the plant to 3ft high. The leaves will still look good for another month but reducing the height will allow the zebra grass behind to show itself properly. The grass is just getting going and will look fairly spectacular through August and September. It reaches a height of 7ft+. It's coming up just behindthe sylvestris and in front of the variegated elderberry. The bronze fennel (to the right) will also be more visible.

              These are not being blown by the wind and I haven't taken the photo wonky. They are leaning because they're trying to keep away from the shade of the trees to the left and the laurel behind.

                I do envy your choice of plants and the scale of them too. I,on the other hand, have to grow in miniature by comparison but results that please is what matters most. Thank you for showing me your exhibits today.

                          Lovely Fuchsias Jenny. When I get my new greenhouse "old 1 bought it 2 winters ago" I am going to have a bash at growing these.I'll know who to come to for expert advice as yours are a credit to you.

                            Is this a second-hand greenhouse sitting in a pile waiting to be re-erected, or an old greenhouse that you want to "skip" and replace with a shiny new one?
