I've been weeding and tidying my main border/bed, and I've just noticed clear signs of starvation. Nasturtium is a good indicator, because the big round leaves tend to be much smaller when nutrients are running low, and they also produce more visible flowers. That's exactly what's happening in mine.

Its in a patch of ground that I keep forgetting I didn't improve when I did the rest of it. I ran out of mushroom compost when I got to that bit.

At the end of the year, I will dig that whole section out and mix in loads and loads of compost/manure/seaweed whatever, but for the rest of this year, other than finding my Miracle Grow, is there anything else I can do to give that section a boost?

I usually use chicken poo pellets, but for some reason I haven't bought any this year. I've sprayed them with Miracle Grow earlier, and I've put the seaweed I gathered all around them. I'm hoping the Miracle Grow will have an almost immediate effect, while the seaweed will be more of a long term thing.

Thanks. I look forward to receiving that. A small storm arrived early this morning, about 6AM. It was just a bit of light rain by 7AM. No thunder in it though. Although we did get some thunder yesterday just after I lit the barbie.
