Is it too late to sow sunflowers and English marigolds?

As per title really. Am I too late to sow pot marigold and sunflowers?

Well you usually sow these in Spring, March April , for summer flowering. It takes about 12 weeks for Marigolds to flower . T and M say you can sow late summer for early flowers next year if you have a heated GH

 

Too late then. Oh well, next year.

 

I hate it when this happens as next year seems sooooooo far off!!!

No idea on marigolds, but I would say too late for sunflowers ... unless we get an Indian Summer lasting through until the beginning of November and then you just might get away with it (although they would need regular watering). Are you a betting man, Clue?

Is it viable to plant half and save half until next year, so you can experiment?

 

I've decided not to do anything at all today, as so far everything has been a disaster. With age brings wisdom, and with wisdom comes the knowledge of when to step back and don't touch anything else for the day
