I hope everyone is growing the requisite Gardeners Corner Green Carnation buttonhole ... 'coz East Ruston is a big place to just happen upon someone. Shall we all meet in the Maze? :heehee:

As an alternative perhaps Team Leader should PM a mobile number to everyone so that anyone who doesn't find the herd can get shepherded

For anyone as nerdy as me make sure you check out the Pilkington Gibbs heliochronometer (in the Mediterranean garden) [link]. Accurate to the minute (provided the sun is shining, and if you allow for BST) which was used to set the time for the railways when each town had their own time based on sunrise/set

I'll make a list of spare plants I have in case anyone wants anything.

    SUGGESTION:-
Kristen, you appear to be elected Team Leader/Organiser for this one :heehee:

As you say you are likely to want to go to some other places prior to East Ruston, why don't you give a list of times and places for people to meet at the entrance of where you are going.

We can then end up at East Ruston for opening time at 2 p.m. and meet in the car park. In case people are late we can then move on to the Tea Garden and the nearby Toilets for 2.10 - 2.30. I'm sure a number of us will be happy to make use of both facilities when we arrive. :) The Tea Garden seems a good place to Meet and Greet :blue thumb:

Then it's quite likely that Team Leader (and his phone) need not be bothered unless someone is quite late.

Mrs Shiney and I hope to see a lot of you there on the 11th. :grphg:

The Nursery is probably better. The Loos, from memory, are adjacent to nursery rather than tea room ... and for tea room you'll need to be buying tea (I don't suppose anyone will mind if you grab a seat there) which is more likely at the end of the visit :)

      Here's a map:
      http://www.e-ruston-oldvicaragegardens.co.uk/pages/view/591/Garden-Map.htm
Car Park is on the far right, and entrance is via the path from top right corner to (22) [Loos] and then nursery is at (1)

Tea Room is the building to the left of (19)

        Seems good to me :dbgrtmb:

So - Car park at 2 p.m. and then on to Plant Sales/Loos as the feeling takes you. Then on our way round the gardens by 2.30, or earlier if all there. :dancy:

We'll need confirmation of who is definitely going so we know who to wait for etc.

        So, it's

It will be great to see both of you again, Jazmine :blue thumb:. You're probably one of our nearest members to East Ruston. :)

Although it's not far from me, unfortunately I can't make it that weekend.
Mrs Trunky arrives home from a two week holiday in Florida on the Saturday, having not seen me for two weeks, I suspect she would not be impressed if I said I was off out on Sunday. :heehee:
Hope you all have a good time anyway. :blue thumb:
