As we had such a cold start to the season our runnerbeans, similar to most gardeners, were very much delayed. We've been picking a few beans for a couple of weeks but this week they have really got going.

    This is today's crop

And the flowers have started growing like mad on the top of the ShineyFrame. This is at a height of about 7ft and they have really spread well across the overhead framework.

The bees are loving them :blue thumb:. As I work amongst the plants, winding the ends in, there's this continuous buzz of contentment from them. They walk all over my hands and arms on their way to the next flower :hapydancsmil:

      Hiya shiney.

I haven't had a bean as yet, and no sign of any forming. Thankfully, my Bridgwater Beans have taken up the slack:)

You'll have to pop round for a few :heehee:. Very heavy watering is usually the cure. :blue thumb:

Thanks, Steve, see you next month :dbgrtmb:

The ShineyFrame is working out very well again. I've grown some in different methods to use as a control but they were planted a couple of weeks behind the frame. So I'll see how they get on in two week's time.

The wigwam style is not doing all that well and the ones grown on the crossed pole style are now producing fairly well.

I don't know whether it's because of the lateness of the season this year but not many beans grew on any of the growing frames below waist high. This gives the Shineyframe an advantage because the extra growing area available is at the top, from 7ft to 12ft from the roots. Although there is a goodly amount growing on the top half of the canes there is an enormous amount growing across the extra framework higher up.

These are the pickings from yesterday morning and this morning. I'll have to weigh and bag them up for sale this afternoon but I guess there may be 25lb+ there. :blue thumb: The charity will be pleased :).

:wow: Shiney, that's a good hoard you've got there. :) Do you freeze runners for yourself, if so could you tell me how you prepare them please?
