Today I watered, cut the lawn, deadheaded again, staked and weeded. I also gave the fences on the drive another coat of black.

 

Good luck Shiney. I am going to tackle my rear lawn which to my shame I haven't done for a
few weeks so seeing how much you have to do has made me feel better about the tiny patch I have to mow

Just need the rain to hold off until after the 9am watershed (no pun intended) It's looking imminent though.

 

Plenty of watering and lots of dead heading.
Potted into a bigger pot the hedychium spicatum
Banana needs doing tomorrow again but need some MORE compost
Looking through the salvia thread to find a long flowering blue salvia for next year too

 

I've chanced the weather and finished painting the fence/posts/base panels down the front of the drive It's held off raining so far but am hoping if we do have a shower it will be a quick one and so do less damage. Plus it's quite windy which will help everything dry a bit quicker.



I am going to top up the narrow gap at the bottom with compost and plant some seeds to give it a bit of colour. Will start a new thread for ideas.

That's about a zillion fence panels painted, plus double drive gates. Only two and a half down the drive to do and a few which are hidden behind the garage/greenhouse which I can do as and when.

Just watered, deadheaded, cut the lawn, cut some flowers for a table dec, and ordered a Chinese takeaway ( the first one in yeeeeeeeaaaarrssssss!) for din dins toneet!

If anyone's interested were having for us teas:-

Chicken and sweet corn soup
Prawn crackers
Crispy spring rolls
Barbecue spare ribs
Young chow fried rice
Mixed meats cashew in yellow bean sauce
Chicken in orange sauce.


It's the first time I've not bbq'd in 4 weeks so looking forward to not cooking as I cannot be arrised tonight. Might even treat mesen to a white wine spritzer!

 

Luckily the forecast showers didn't materialise so I've been out painting the fence again. I've only got two left to do which are both in a narrow strip behind the greenhouse so I'm going to have to wedge myself in there to get them done tomorrow. Ain't half got a bad back now and my right hamstring is feeling a bit stretched from bending over.
