What's Looking Good In August 2013

Missed out on the Bottlebrush flowers, but instead the first Mirabilis flower opened today.

 

A few more delights









And these are the first strawberries I have ever grown - not perfect by any means but at least they grew

 

There are about six in flower at the moment and another 100, or so, buds that are looking good.

Love Passiflora. Bought 2 from Aldi when they came in on Thursday, can't wait for them to be well established and covered in beautiful flowers.

Some of my Lupins that I thought had finished flowering this year have come back and flowered again!


I really like this Verbena too, poor photo though.

 

I struggle growing Strawberry as well Annie , no perfectly shaped supermarket gems in my garden ! The few I grow are all a little mishapen , but taste gorgeous with a dab off sour cream

 

I am just so happy that they fruited - the red flowers were so beautiful and lasted so long that I almost gave up on fruit appearing. Only had 3 plants but now I know I can grow them maybe next year I'll go for more.

 

Call me a cheeky sod, but if that Abutilon sets seed please let me know - it's stunning!
