In broad daylight too. The thieving burglar didn't even seem to care that the lad and I were watching.

Between us and the church next door is a massive steel fence. It has spikes on top. Spiders recognise that the gaps between said spikes make the perfect mounts for their webs, to catch all the insects passing in and out of my garden.

Just now, right before our very eyes, a bird, or 'birdlar' if you will, flew to one web, stole the insects caught in it, then hop to the next and did the same, then the next, and so on all the way along. That's a lot of spiders going hungry tonight. Not only that, but the birdlar, wasn't exactly careful. It simply took want it wanted and trashed the webs before moving on.

I saw a burglary once (I'm a extremely light sleeper). They walked up and down the street (in the early hours) then one went in through a window with defective lock (obviously noticed during the day that there was a problem with it), he quickly let in his mate through the front door and a few minutes later they had all the ground floor electrical goods into the car parked outside (don't leave car keys downstairs!) and were away with them.

No Scrungee. Do leave car keys downstairs, the last thing you want is a burglary coming upstairs looking for car keys especially if armed. I work for BMW and we get cars on a lease scheme and only a few weeks ago someone at our place was burgled with keys upstairs. He and his wife were held at knife point for them.

The cheeky birdlar came back today. Some of the spiders had rebuilt their webs. All raided again.
