ARMANDII, your photos seem a little shy today :snork:

The Veronicastrum is the plant of the moment for the bees. There are, literally, hundreds of them all over it.

      P1170826.jpg

They were climbing all over each other to get to the flowers and, at one time, there were seven just on this tip of the flower. When I took this shot there were only the two on the front and three round the back.

The cabbage whites (think that's what they are) were also enjoying them.

I'm not very well up on the names of butterflies (a fancier term for me being completely ignorant! :heehee:)

One of my favourite small birds. There was a family of these longtail tits visiting our garden and I spent a happy half hour photoing them.

I quite like her red eyeliner :rolleyespink:

MrH saw one land among the flowers but he couldn't find it while I was fetching the camera, so we brushed the plants around him, and it flew out from right in front of his eyes :heehee:.

Neighbour was here today sawing down an ancient Pine for me as it was past it's sell by date. While picking up the branches I heard a very loud buzzing noise and then saw a Giant Wood Wasp land on a pile of the pine shavings. Perhaps it was attracted by the lovely Pine aroma. upload_2013-8-8_19-11-20.png k

Thank god I know they don't sting and the huge spike on the end of it's "bottom" is for boring into trees not me, otherwise I would have probably broken the sound barrier hot footing it in any direction other than it's. The photo is off the net not mine,I didn't have my camera on me when it paid a visit and despite knowing they are harmless I'm not too sure I'd fancy 1 on my finger!
