What Jobs Are We Doing in the Garden Today... MK3.. 2013

Yesterday was spent cutting the grass (including running into the house, taking mower with me! during a heavy downpour), and then clearing a couple of small patches of couch grass roots, so I could plant out my geranium sanguinium which has been sulking in a pot for a year...

....oh, and as ever, weeding the now-cleared beds, to keep on top of the bramble shoots that we could not dig out.

 

So you took it easy today then FC?

Myself? After work I cut the lawn, deadheaded, watered, fed and weeded. Then had a takeaway again!!

 

It's like us mate, we rarely go out, our treat is staying in with the kids, playing and enjoying our home. We love it! Nothing better than tending the garden and making a home, it makes you feel all warm inside and proud as punch!

 

On getting home from work,watered and deadheaded and measured my tomatoes and Onions and pumpkin

 

@Scorpio1968 Aww, Merlin and Arthur are gardeners buddies! (well, their pooh's are ) they are most welcome to GC Really enjoying seeing how your garden has developed/evolved. Bit envious though ... even your airer (at first glance) looks like a dramatic flower display, it blends in so well!

Blimey al, you fit all that in *after* work?

Watering alone takes almost 3hrs here; mowing takes a good 1 and 1/2 (sans strimming!); weeding is an ongoing game of catch up/catch me when can: ooooh! and feeding the plants feels like another day eaten up out of the week (need to measure/use watering cans).

*note to self: must work harder!*

I've not long been home from work so aren't doing anything in the garden at the moment.....i'm thinking about it though

 

My neighbour was not happy with my 20 ft buddleia that was overhanging his garden and shutting out some light so I took the saw and cut it down. Hated myself for doing it as the plumes were so beautiful. Took some doing as it was tucked away in a tight corner and was a problem pulling it through other trees around it. Hoping that next year it will shoot again from the base and I will keep it a more manageable height. Then came the problem of cutting it all down for the sacks for the tip.

Also cut back the wisteria on the side of the house and that is my lot in the garden for today.
Although the sun is shining and maybe after a rest I may venture out again for a bit more tiding up.

 

No I must admit I just cut them down to tidy them up. Lesson to myself - 'must learn to prune correctly'.

 

Not 'arf! Nearly 40 panel sides, plus all posts and visible base panels. I have to admit that I have enjoyed it though even though I am aching a bit. The worst bits were the ones which were hard to reach.
