    Hi all

Any one else like me in August as I just "run out of steam" with doing everything, to be honest I am glad it has rained so only the toms , baskets and pots to water.

Managed to cut all the lawns which has made a vast difference

      You've had rain? *You've* had rain!? :love30: (Where's mine? :help: )

I think I can relate to what you are saying though, this year, because I'm trying to take myself more seriously, I'm feeling a bit battle weary with the garden

Not me Spruce, I get more enthusiastic everyday! It takes ages to water the garden, pots, planters, hanging baskets but I just "lose" myself in the jobs. I've lit all the citronella candles already and along with the smell of the lillies it's gorgeous. I could spend hours just pondering and arranging everything!

I'm with you Spruce. :) My garden is pretty much taking care of itself after all the 'busy, busy' throughout spring and early summer and I'm enjoying the break. In fact, after a late start here because of the snow it looks like it's going to be and early finish this year too. I've started pulling out annuals already that have either finished or looking a complete mess. So, a better summer this year weather-wise but a short one I think. We've just had a heavy downpour here, so that's given the garden a good watering. :)

I'm as enthusiastic as ever. I lose my mojo quite easily and waste a lot of time sulking, but over the last few weeks, even though the garden is not doing great, I'm all fired up with ideas of what I'll do with it next.

It is. I have 2 sons now and several nephews. During a conversation with one nephew yesterday, after he described my garden as 'epic', I replied that seeing as I have 2 lads and several nephews, I want the garden to be fun, not just a boring outdoor space, to which he replied casually with clearly no offence meant, "hmm, like my grandma's".

I'm building it sympathetically though. Plenty of plants are incorporated into the plan. It will be a nice place to chill out when its not raining a relentless torrent of foam bullets.

I'm the opposite, I started off feeling pretty laissez faire, probably because I had so much to do, but now I've finished the worst bits I'm getting more enthused. Whether my energy levels match my enthusiasm is a different matter entirely :)

At the moment I feel like I'm doing a lot of thinking and looking but no actual gardening. Just can't get the time to myself.
