Whats the betting the farmer ploughs them all in just before I get the chance to sell them on my doorstep?

I don't think it will be long when he spreads it, in first pic looks like the field has been cut to top right

Why is it full of tomatoes but nothing else?

I know about tomato seeds surviving a trip through the human digestive tract, but surely there can't be that many seeds get in that way.

Is this some new technique in the field of 'bioremediation'? If it is, any reason why tomatoes are the chosen plant?

Bioremediation is a trick that's been around for ever, but only relatively recently been given a name and hence is 'new'. The idea is that ground that is full of harmful pathogens and/or toxic chemicals can be made safe without great expense simply by seeding it with certain plants/fungi, and nurturing an eco system that encourages soil micro-organisms that break down harmful things into harmless things, or plants/fungi that mop up heavy metals and such, with the fruit/plant growth then being removed from the site, thus removing the toxins.

Willow and reed beds are common for this job. Never heard of tomatoes being used.

Or perhaps its a green manure technique, to hold onto all the nutrients rather than having the rain wash it out, but again, surely not toms for that job.

Or maybe, there is someone in the south west who eats an awful lot of raw tomatoes?

                You'd loose your wellies

Don't think they've been deliberately planted, odd that nothing else has come up though.

Lots of people eating tomatoes in sumerset then Zigs, I wonder if the poo was teated when it came from sewage works?. I hope the farmer is not going to be plant milling wheat or malting barley or let his cow eat the grass after the field to which he spreads the poo in :nonofinger::frown:

Why is there a huge pile of human poo lying around in a field in Somerset? How did it get there?
