Just been reading Merles problems with vine weevil , but I don't think its the same problem I have. My climbing Thunbergia and also the Cactus Dahlias have this problem, as shown in photos. The plant leaves are badly shrivelled with tiny holes in them. Is a blast with Provado the answer ?
    TIA

A couple of my cactus dahlias are the same!

The amount of earwigs this year is unbelievable, also, lots of cabbage whites that are laying lots of eggs so lots of caterpillars too! I've been doing the evening cull of earwigs and slugs but I haven't seen any vine weevil as yet here, the caterpillars I tend to just pick off but I can't bring myself to squash them so they're left on the bird food feeders.

Thanks Spruce and Aln .Well a quick Google shows it does look like Thrip damage . never heard of the little monkeys before ! I don't like spraying too much , so if I remove the damaged plant sections and give a quick blast with Provado , is this my best course of action ?

        Hi H

To be honest I don't like spraying plants that are just about to come into flower, I only use Vine weevil Provado on the Heucheras after they have finished flowering and the same with the sedums , but I am sure it would work if you did they are more active on the warm sunny days normally in two's sitting on the leaf or in the flower bud they are so easily missed but like I mentioned earlier you have to be quick if squashing them.
