Yes could be Freddy, I separated my Rosada and Ferline in the cold greenhouse with no heat, both varieties went purple due to the cold. The Ferline seem to have recovered better, they are stocky but still no ripe fruit. The Rosada may be less forgiving I guess.

It's the worst year i've had with Gardeners delight.....they've always been a good 'doer' for me (in the GH) but due to lack of space through trying other varieties they're growing outside....still have a few toms to come from them but very poor crop compared to other years.....

Gave up on my GH Brandy Wine.. Red plants.....sickly looking things with poor pollination.....plus i needed the space....i just can't get on with 'potato leaved' tomatoe plants....i don't like the look of them:rolleyespink:.....

Just thought I would give an update and say that I shut my greenhouse Tuesday evening and by midday yesterday my toms were starting to ripen. I haven't even put banana skins on them yet either.

Same for me Loli, my GD are in the greenhouse and looking big strong healthy plants, but very few fruit have ripened - most of my other varieties are the same though. So far only Sungold is performing 'normally', i.e. steady supply of ripe fruit. I think it was that heatwave has bamboozled them.

          Hiya folks.

          Picked a couple....

The two on the left are 'Country Taste', the two on the right are 'Super Marmande', with a 'Sungold' in the middle:)

            Hiya John.

Taste, such a personal thing. I tried both a couple of weeks ago, and my impression was that they were both pretty good for a large tomato, although the 'Country Taste' definitely had the edge and looks capable of producing some whoppers, given the inclination. The 'Country Taste' plants are also more vigorous in this case. Given the limited space in the greenhouse, next year I may well drop the 'Super Marmande' in favour of a couple more 'Country Taste'. Apart from anything else, the 'Country Taste' seem a lot more consistent, when it comes to size.

Anyway, I'll be having these fried up with some Garlic for my supper tonight, along with a couple of second earlies:):)

Yay! A wee bit of warmth was all they wanted. Funnily enough, I have been closing my greenhouse up for the past couple of nights, as its felt a bit chilly.

Me too, I also noticed the first signs of Botrytis on one of my cucumbers - an indication of cooler humid conditions, so opening all the vents and doors during the day is still important to get some air flow.

@Freddy , I am now eating your Sungolds and they really are deliciously sweet and there's some delicate pretty trusses to come,
                thank you,

I just tasted one (Cuore Di Bue), no flavour. I'll roast the rest in a day or so, hopefully the flavour will develop that way.
