good news that your dog is ok Yvonne. we have a hole in the floor where the vent leads to from outside. thank you for reminding me of that clueless I would of put a piece of card over but ill find some sort of plastic and duct tape it over see if that helps.

Yep, the first pic is on the base of the main Bird Bath where I've been putting Sultanas for the Blackbirds and the Wasps took a liking to them, so I've stopped putting Sultanas there for a while.
The second pic is of the Bird Feeders and in the seed mixture is small lumps of fat and again the Wasps love that. I'm not worried about the Wasps as they pollinate the flowers etc along with the Bees and, like the Bees, I treat the Wasps as friendly but with respect:hate-shocked::heehee:

I wonder if the polystyrene spray foam could help to cover the holes where they come from...

Have you checked the loft if you have one?

I had a similar problem a few years ago and eventually realised the wasps were getting under the eaves

I do know that the powder you can get to kill the wasps is incredibly good, a friend of mine had a nest in the garden and with kids it was dangerous so a couple of quid from wilkos and he sprinkled the powder all over near the nest went back next day and no sign of a wasp anywhere!!!

They had left .. perhaps it moved the problem somewhere else but it worked.

He dug up the nest a few days later and it was empty with just a few dead ones and some eggs etc

The council in Fife now charge £150 (last September) as I paid the money the operator said they would have died by the end of October :-(

Never seal a vent, it can cause serious problems with the air flow if you have gas appliances

You can put powder on the vent, which the wasps carry to the nest and it kills the rest of them

              Take care

They are rather partial to fennel - maybe you could squeeze one of those in (away from the feeders).
