Cat Deterrent Talk.? All post of this nature in this thread only.. Humane talk only please.!

I just had to clean up 2 lots of poo off my lawn today, much to my annoyance. It got me thinking. I must admit to not being a cat person myself, but I wonder how often cats get the blame when it wasn't them. One of the lots of poo I had to clean up today was, in my opinion, two large to have come from a cat. It was more like a dog poo or possibly fox. I've caught the neighbour's yappy dog in my garden more than once before, and I've seen foxes in the neighbourhood.

Luckily its quite a rare occurrence in our garden, so I can't really say we have a problem.

 

Very true, as Cats like to try and bury their poo, the cultivated areas such as beds and borders are perfect.

Eventually I will have mine full with plants and my cats will not even be tempted. I do though intend to install a cat loo for them.

Unfortunately not in my garden! I have to walk round with a spade to clear my lawns before I mow. We have no foxes here and I've caught the culprits in the act. Lazy cats round here me thinks.

that truly is the worst thing about cats we couldn't stop our our old girl Snow from hunting....amazing she was so incredibly good at it (seriously, she was a superb hunter ) as she was just a wee slip of a girl & snow white from head to tail.....& had so many bells on her collar she sounded like a Christmas song when running

 

I should change my occupation to 'Carnage Cleaner'. Our 4 lively youngsters often present various rodents, the odd bird or 3 and just lately a bat! It is a side that I don't like but have to let nature be.

 

oh i don't miss that! our Snow was terrible for bringing 'presents' home too, it seems everything & anything was fair game cos we sure got a variety! even a rabbit once! which beggars belief seeing as she was such a small cat & would've carried the rabbit up & over fences & shed roofs to get it home!

 

it sounds like your Oscar was a very special puddy tat Shiney i only wish our Snow was the same with birds, she knew to leave our pet birds in the house & the aviary well alone...but everything else was fair game as far as she was concerned

 

My neighbour keen gardener last week discovered what she reckons is the ultimate deterrent, Found on the internet. www.cactus-products.com. I have just obtained a box of anti climb spikes, been up the ladder and glued them to the top of my brick wall a favourite with the local pussy population, I shall now after risking life and limb wait to see results. Thought I would share this with you all.

 

These look good!!! Cannot harm a cat but I reckon they would hate the feel of those on their feet and would probably go elsewhere!!
