Every time I look at it the colour is slightly different, it changes with the time of day and the light level, no wonder the camera has a job coming up with the true colour. A few more recent pics of "Grand Marnier".
Same story over here , exactly same damage .... plus I `ve almost gave up to the idea of flowers and jst looked at my 3 brugmansia and they all are getting ready to flowering ...cool
I did find a caterpillar a couple of weeks ago, when I first spotted the damage, but I've seen nothing since. Is there anything that doesn't attack these? No sign of any flowers yet...
Ive also had the same problem but no sign of what is doing it! ive chopped most of the leaves off all 3 of mine today my yellow ones are still flowering and i finally have a bud on the white one The mullien and some dahlias have the same leave problem
If it is capsid bug (which I think likely) they much the buds, so when the leaves open they are holey ... so once the damage is spotted its too late, and more buds will open to reveal holey leaves ... :(
Been the worst year for caterpillar attacks...large and tiny little ones that obliterate the leafs. BUT got a huge amount of buds on plants and a few flowers. Good old Yellow Aurea and the cream Aurea hybrid Margaret
Having looked it up, I think you're right. Any idea which would be the best treatment? As I understand it, one has to be careful when treating 'Brugs'
I think we are now coming to the end of the capsid bug year, so maybe things will improve on their own. Me, I just spray, with any good insecticide, that is if you can find one which is not banned.
We haven't got much else left have we? I'm still using the Westland plant rescue on RSM, and other pests, not tried the dodgy abermectin bought on E bay, yet.
