I want some :hapydancsmil:got 2 bags unopened at the moment, they are sort of ear marked for my hyacinths and tulips, so a few bags for stock will not go amiss.:heehee:

I just bought a load of John Innes 1 and 2 from a local 'cheapo' shop at 99p each for 20 litre bags.

WOW, that is very cheap, real bargain there!! I opened the bags of Arthur Bowers yesterday and I could not believe how the quality has gone down!! what happened to the lovely peaty/sandy mix that it used to be, God knows what I shall do with it all now, it's rubbish!!!!!! :frown:

thats the thing with special offers isn't it? you never really know what your getting, its not always just the shop clearing out/overstocked ect, very often there's something amiss with that particular batch...& they want rid!

im sure you'll still get good use of it Val, you could always mix it with some decent compost for potting on & such....if not you could always just spread it out on your flower beds as a nice thick mulch, you could even dig it in to help improve the structure of your soil if you felt so inclined...whatever you do im sure it wont go to waste

So compost is compost, I had 3 or 4 bags I stored unopened over winter last year, it was lovely stuff when I opened it, will it continue breaking down.
