I have been avoiding Cannas thus far.
Don't want another tropical plant to worry about over the winter.
But.... Went to a garden centre this afternoon.
They had this for £ 7. Couldn't say no.

Sirius that`s the fun about the cannas , nothing to worry about , pull them up cut at 8 inches , place in a box with sand and store them in the shed , till spring will come .....not to say that they can survive outdoor with a good mulching

"Kreta", its short, about 30ins, but has the largest flowers I have found.

Oh that is lovely! And a quick update on the 'Queensland Arrowroot' (a variegated-leaf Canna sold as seed by Suttons). After moaning about all the seedlings coming plain green:redface:, one of the biggest plants is showing nice variegation now. It remains to be seen what the flowers are like!

Guys , as every years we keep try to cultivate the same cannas from seeds , why don`t we try to do an hybrid and see what we get next year????
