            Thanks Loli, yours and the other roses look good too.

            I planted roses for the first time last year. And the results are what you see. I've always been put off roses because they have a reputation for high maintenance but that hasn't been the case. A cut in spring, a bit of feed to kick start the flowering season, and then it's just plenty of watering and dead heading, simple.

                Those are really lovely Merle, do you know the varieties, might even dig up some lawn and make a rose bed this autumn, they are so lovely.

                        On my wants list so far are Lady Emma Hamilton. Teasing Georgia, Gertrude Jekyll, Jude the Obscure, Sceptered Isle, oh b*##^5 it I want them all, will have to give some serious consideration to re designing my garden over autumn.
                        Then will have to go through entire thread and make a long list, then cull it to a short one,,:heehee:

                            If I were buying a yellow one now it would be Golden Celebration rather than Teasing Georgia, only because it's more fragrant in my garden. Both can be grown as a shrub or short climber . The others you've mentioned all have a fairly strong fragrance :blue thumb:
