How long does it take you to learn a new phone?

I hate having to buy a new phone simply because it takes me ages to work out how to use it.

I like a phone to be a phone. All I want is to be able to make a phone call and send a text now and again. I don't care about and can't be bothered with the new fancy features on the latest phones. I actually can't stand mobile phones. They are just a tracking device to me and once you've got one, you get no peace unless of course you turn the damned thing off or set it to "silent" which I do all the time!!

 

It is a pain that there aren't any manuals anymore. But the HTC One is a nice phone. I've always had iPhones since they were first released, but I'd assume there must be a settings icon that would contain all the vibration settings etc? What I usually do is go into every menu and just see what's there

 

I really hate having to get a new phone. It takes me ages to learn how to use the damn thing and then it only rings when I have both hands full or I am on the loo! How does it know???

 

I agree with everything Fern4 said. These are not so much phones as mini hand held computers, everywhere you see people walking around staring at little squares of plastic!!
I already have a computer why would I want another? My phone is a basic flip lid with numbers on it, press numbers and you make a call!!!! Crazy World where everyone is driving themselves insane trying to use these things.

I have a Samsung Galaxy, love it, I also had a basic phone for calls and texts, then I decided to upgrade, it is like a mini computer, it does so much more and after a slow start, I use it for so many things in conjunction with my computer, they can compliment each other.

 

Haha, they can be complex but great once you get used to them. I do everything on my iPhone, even banking!

 

I used to agree that a phone is just a phone. Then I got used to having a camera, and nowadays my slightly aged HTC Desire HD is:

* My phone
* My camera
* Occasionally the internet (both on the phone and as a wifi hotspot for the laptop)
* My SatNav
* My exercise tracking system
* Occasionally my music player
* My alarm clock
* and very occasionally, I play the odd game on it.

How long....i wouldn't have a clue...i'm still trying to fathom my old one out that i've had for years....if this one goes west i'll be well and truly in the mire

 

It doesn't take me long to fathom a new phone, that's because I've stuck to a Nokia, I'm sure they still produce the simplest phones. I've had other makes in the past but have gone back to these and always buy basic. It gets very little use anyway.
