Maybe, I'm not sure, but that wouldn't be much of a prediction. That region of the world has always been at war in one form or another, and always will be.

I bet Cameron is sighing in relief today after a commons defeat last night. He may have lost a bit of credibility (I think it was hidden well) but he can sit back and say 'Well that's democracy in action folks' without having to spend out militarily or having any fallout from the country.

Syria can now join Vietnam & Somali in the list of wars where the UK didn't support the USA.

This is interesting. The USA, the nation most vocally outraged by the use of chemical weapons in Syria, is one and the same nation that routinely and repeatedly used chemical weapons in another conflict. Agent Orange anybody?

            Wasn't that weedkiller?

You have got to admit, things would be a bit better now if the Yanks had won that one.

On a lighter note I just received this text message

So the Government told the Army to get all the cruise missiles lined up to fire at Syria, then a vote in the Commons determined we won't be going to war after all. The arms companies are disappointed by this turn in events, but are hopeful that another solution can be reached.

Tell you what, I wouldn't want to be a badger this week.

We cant use both, that would leave us with none.
We could fire one and then purchase a new one, .....err, from the Yanks:scratch:

But thinking about it, maybe it would be best to get shot of both, and then get a couple of new ones, I'm sure the ones we have are well passed their "fire by date".

I wouldn't be surprised if it was America that sold Syria there chemical weapons in the first place.

Not really necessary Allan, even I know how to make Napalm, not rocket science.

I see they lovingly dropped it on a School today - beyond belief.

Do we know what gas they used in the earlier, shelling?

Re our government, they never tell us what they know, or how they know it.
We never know what they know, so how can they expect public opinion to just agree with them, the days of just accepting the government know best are gone.
Tony Blair and George W Bush, made sure of that one.

I heard tonight that the UN will report, but are unlikely to say which side did the gassing.
So they are pretty useless, also.
