      Probably Russia.

I heard that on the news today. A fighter plane was filmed dropping the incendiary device. Unlike the chemical attack where there is doubt over which side did it, as far as I can follow, the rebels don't have any military aircraft. Where I was not sure that intervention was right before, if a government is authorising the bombing of schools, there can only be one type of response that is right.

Its interesting though that we seem to have two conflicting sets of information going on. The official stance is we're not going to intervene militarily, but within the last couple of weeks we've had warships moved to the med, reported sightings of one of our submarines in the region, and I myself have seen and heard fighter jets travelling at speed out over the sea. Granted that's not so unusual, but we usually have the odd one now and then, but we've had a fair few go over recently. Of course none of that proves anything, but it does seem a bit coincidental.

And all the while, the legal system holds up any action. The lawyers safe in their £2000 saville rows and country houses, creature comforts and no end of clean water or food...

I feel ashamed that the UK cannot or will not act in the face of what is happening. At the very least they could destroy the airfields.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Syrian Regime aren't quickly converting any potential targets to schools, hospitals, orphanages, etc. so there'll be an international outcry when a cruise mille hits one.

On the news tonight, Assad has been on. He claims it was not his side that deployed chemical weapons. He points out that many of the rebels are Al Qaeda and it may have been them that fired the chemical weapons. Of course he's a politician, that means he is a skilled liar. Russia have offered to put any chemical weapons in Syria under international control, and the Syrian government has agreed. Despite this, Obama is still pushing for support for military action.

This speaks volumes to me. This says to me that regardless of who is guilty of what, Obama has already decided he wants to attack Syria. To me, that says more about Obama than it does about Assad.

Odd, I read it slightly differently - Syria were now only considering handing over the weapons but no decision had been made, and that Obama said that that would stop any immediate response.

Me too. I think there's been political manoeuvring behind the scenes between the US and Russia. Obama has looked increasingly out on a limb seeing as his pal Cameron lost the vote in the Commons, despite noises of support from the French. Putin has been trying to do Obama a "favour" by offering a "ladder" in the shape of Syrian chemical weapons going under international control. The French have now jumped on this bandwagon. This ladder gives Obama an opportunity to climb down it thus saving his political bacon. In interviews, he looked pretty relieved to me at this development. It's all dependent of course on Assad and whether he will play ball and whether he can be trusted.

None of them are trustworthy...dodgy dossiers spring to mind. I still think there will be a climb down.

No, the news report was quite clear. Assad was agreeing to cooperate, Obama is still canvassing his peers to win support for military intervention.

The longer this is going on, the more I am sure it is a False Flag operation by AQ

They'll always be that suspicion though Jack. It's unavoidable given all the parties involved

It would appear that both sides are guilty of war crimes according to UN eye witnesses.

But how do we know these UN 'eye witnesses' are telling the truth about anything, and not simply saying what they've been told to say? Didn't Doctor Kelly tell us that Saddam had WMDs that he could deploy within 45 minutes, shortly before blurting something about been made to say it, shortly before mysteriously killing himself in some local woods?

The more I hear about the Syria situation, the more I get the feeling that a UN/NATO stitch-up its coming.

I think it was about 30 years ago when the US intervened in Afghanistan to give the rebels (the Taliban no less) the upper hand to help keep the Soviet forces under control. Look at how that's turned out.

In Syria, it is widely acknowledged, that the rebel side has connections with Al Queda. Not so very long ago the US and UK governments were warning us that Al Queda had access to 'dirty bombs'. We have no way at all to be sure of who did what. We only have the word of politicians that have their own agenda. As for the credibility of the UN, well I still clearly remember the news of what the UN decided to do in the former Yugoslavia while a village full of civilians, including women and young kids, were beaten, raped, and then summarily executed.

Totally agree, I was only relaying what I have been hearing on the radio news reports today.
