Magic, should be a good reference. Who's going to create a graphic at the end of the season to creatively illustrate the results at a glance? ...

Another haul from my lot tonight, with a few still to ripen on the vines of the Ailsa Craigs and the Millefleur ('scuse the state of the kitchen, I had been emptying cupboards and all sorts amid all this):

Looks good FC. What will you be using this lot for? I reckon some would be nice in home made lasagne. :)

Yellow ones are the Millefleur, the rest of the larger ones are Ailsa Craig, and the smaller red ones are the last few Maskotka. This load are making bolognese, stew and soup that are all being frozen in portions and will see us through the winter.

I reckon that there is almost four months worth of eating to be had out of it all, assuming two or three meals a week from them. Sure beats the fast food from the supermarket.

Amazing! And well done for making all these nice stuff from them, there's nothing better than tasty healthy food that you grew yourself!

Picked my first ripe Pink Brandywine today. Massive! Made a nice sandwich with it using some brown bread I had baked earlier :) Actually, tell a lie, I had to have two sandwiches 'coz it was massive :)

Tasty ... but ... do I really want to sacrifice growing space to a variety that takes so long to start cropping? or is it my lousy husbandry that has prevented it ripening sooner? (Lots of its neighbours have been cropping for months, so there must be plenty of Ethylene about. Having said that, I have a couple of varieties that are STILL not ripe ...)

Heathen that I am I am not sure I can decide that any of the varieties I have grown this year (experimental year growing 10x different varieties) have more / better / different / interesting flavour than the Shirley & Gardeners Delight that I have grown for the last decade of so ...

What I have found is that, of the 20 plants that I can fit into the greenhouse, only 2x of each variety doesn't give me enough harvest for a meal, whereas 10x Shirley and 10x Gardeners Delight is me totally sorted for a BBQ lunch for 20 people or more, and Gardeners Delight starts cropping incredibly early of course

Anyone else want a bigger greenhouse all of a sudden?

Well done FC, everything looks great, nothing like garden tomatoes in the middle of winter, instead of canned tomatoes.
Mine are finally ripening, some are new to me this year and cant wait to try them!!
