I really don`t want to sound like a racist by this was really upsetting and I really want to make a complain to tesco

    Tesco Cardington bedford
Asian family stand around near the reduced to clear
the shelves are empty , 5 minutes later they still waiting around ..one family with 3 trolleys ..
another asian working for tesco come with a trolley full of meats , left it near the family and left , the family completly mobbing around the trolley , like animals (no jaking) and filling up them trolleys without even see what meat was it or even checking the price , pushing away anyone else , one of them took one of box away an filling up his trolley .....I didn`t understood what`s was going on .....untill I`ve seen the prices
    full chicken 50p
    rump steak 60p
    and so on ,
I`ve managed to get £20 pounds worth of meats for less £1.60 , the old lady (using the word lady) totally kicked me out .

all that made me really upset , we all want to save a pound , but unfortunatly I don`t have a friend or family member working at tesco that will reduce a peace of meat worth £11 pounds to 87p or a family that will mob all the other customers .....Am I racist????? no I would like to eat meat as well without spending a fortune

I'd say definitely make a formal complaint to Tescos. The fact that they were Asian is of no consequence. It sounds to me like a member of staff knew what was going to the reduced shelf, and told his/her family, and showed favoured to them. Its not professional. If I was that staff member's boss, I'd be wanting words.

I'd put the complaint in writing, politely, explaining exactly as you've explained to us here. I'd wangle into the letter how they will of course be able to verify your report by checking their own CCTV, and that you'd like a written explanation as to why they feel it is acceptable for their staff to show such lack of professionalism etc.

I think there is reason to take this to the head of that store sal73. I would imagine there is video coverage that will show the actions that took place over the period of time in question. No one, whatever their colour has a right to do that ,

Its a bit like all the Nepalese turning up at the local park with ladders to collect all the walnuts last year.

Definitely complain as I wouldn't be at all surprised if these reductions as MF suspects too aren't correct either. I sometimes buy reduced items from Tescos (used to run my own business involved with food so know a bit more than the average person about sell buy/ use before dates). The reductions re your issue are massive and way bigger than I've personally ever seen in Tesco stores in these parts.
Doesn't matter what the he.. the people's skin colour was, you and anybody else had just as much right as they did to bargains.
Just in case the store manager of Cardington is "in on it" or can't be bothered with issues unrelated to sales figures, I would go straight to head office and ask to speak to someone in authority and play the "this could be seen as racial prejudice" card which it isn't of course. That should get Tescos sitting up and taking notice. I really do hope you don't back down and leave this as it's well past the time we stopped being pushed around literally!
We are somewhat fortunate up here in Scotland that our population remains mostly native. Maybe our colder climate is a deterrent to people from warmer climes!

If the reduced price is not the real reduced price, and some thing is done about it then you will not get those prices again :frown:

I will also have to make a complait about it, We don't get this at our stores

If the member of staff has done that deliberately ( and it sounds as if he/she has ) so that the crowd got all the bargains then that is an instant dismissible offence. Definitely contact the branches manager so he knows the full story. Absolutely disgusting way to behave from a member of staff.

Seen this happen loads of times. Food initially gets reduced in small amounts but shortly before closing time it can get knocked down to pennies and the 'vultures' in the know are very often circling round waiting for the big final reductions.

Very often, to avoid being mobbed, the staff will take everything away out the back for re-stickering and bring it back again, so anybody watching will know what's happening and hang around until it comes back.

Sometimes whoever is lucky to be there will amicably share it out, but on many occasions there's a family/group working against everybody else and grabbing so much stuff it beggars belief that they could possibly use all of it themselves.

And our experience in a local Tescos has been that an Asian member of staff charged with making the reductions will, if there's a badly behaved family/group of grabbers who also happen to be Asian (or any other ethnicity) hanging around, purposely wait until they have gone (deliberately misleading them if required) before making the final reductions.

Nowt to do with race - they acted in a pack. Not that I'd suggest such a thing but an accidental gentle nudge to the back of the knees with your basket and a further 'oh I am clumsy!' nudge with a shoulder works wonders.

Have a look through this MSE thread - food does get reduced to prices like that for everybody, if they are in the right place at the right time.

                        http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4474455&page=1

And sometimes the reduced stuff is on BOGOF, some multi-saves still work on reduced stuff at Tesco, and/or there's online cashback available, meaning it's even cheaper and sometimes works out as free or you're even paid to take it away, plus you can still use manufacturers/Tesco mailing/Tesco magazine money off coupons + Clubcard Points coupons when buying reduced stuff - I do it all the time and sometimes when using multiple coupons you need to add other stuff to your basket to avoid embarrassment at the checkout - like they have to pay you!

P.S. It used to be even better at Tescos when BOGOFs and Multi-saves all came through at full price, so anything on BOGOF reduced to half price and bought in multiples of 2 was free! Unfortunately Tesco fixed this several years ago, but it still works at Waitrose (and Sainsburys last time we checked).

P.P.S. If this 'incident' is escalated, I can foresee that branch of Tescos simply skipping their 'reduced to clear' stuff rather than risk aggravation.
