Thanks Strongy, coming from a photographer of your class that's a compliment.:hapydancsmil: But, to be honest, I was slightly disappointed with them for a couple of reasons [a] the light wasn't all that good but I didn't want to rack up the ISO so my depth of field was not that great. I couldn't get a good angle on the eyes.....she wasn't as obliging as the Bees or flies who don't mind you sticking a lens in their face. But that just means I will be visiting her again until I get the shot I want.:snork:

She's a handsome wench already Armandii, :wub2: just bring her the odd flower fly or two now and then. I love to watch them wind them up like a bobbin. I would spend ages "feeding" spiders in the gardens around me as a kid,
        Jenny

A southern hawker has been visiting us in the past few days. It was mostly hovering, darting about and, very occasionally, landing to lay eggs, not on the weeds in the pond but on the edge of the pond and some plants next to the pond. Rather odd I thought . Grabbed a couple of pictures while it did that.

Went out for a walk around the village, saw an angle shades moth.

On the way home, we decide to pick a few blackberries. A few horses were around and one of them came over to investigate what we were doing and, sensing that the berries were better eating than the grass, pushed its nose into the bag that MrH was holding and in the process pushed poor hubby further and further into the thorny blackberry bushes as he tried to protect his pickings :heehee::loll:He was not amused.

You did well to get that close to the Hawker to get those great shots, HsuH. Well, at least the horse was only after Mr H's berries.......and not his nuts.:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Glad you like them, Jenny:snork: If you look closely at him you can see the bits of pollen on his back where he'll unintentionally pollinate another plant!!:hapfeet:

A lot of migrants around at Wareham Forest this morning including a briefly sighted Hobby, loads of Chiffchaffs, Willow Warblers and Spotted Flys but all on the move and never close enough for a decent pic. Still plenty of Dragonflies too.

[IMG]rescued this 3" long beauty out of the conservatory today, after the cat decided to catch it and bring it inside... I'm surprised it didn't bite either of us!

I was told years ago they can bite, I don't know if that was something to scare me-as-a-kid or not, but I wasn't taking any chances! It was swooping around my head though! :(
