@JazzSi , that one put me in mind of Marylin Manson, which in turn put me in mind of White Zombie.

This one, contrary to the claims of one of my mates that they are just beating up their instruments, is a work of art. Give it a listen. A proper listen. There is a lot going on, but its all music.

I've resisted as long as I can. Sorry. Here is one of the greatest songs of all time.

Sigue Sigue Sputnik were an electro/punk/rock band at the tail end of the cold war. In most of their songs (and a few covers) they totally mock the silliness of it all. F1-11 Love Missile is a classic example of that dangerous mockery. Note the video. I think it plays on the 1980s paranoia that satellites could watch you personally, and even see what you were having dinner.

Note also, at intervals in the song, how there is just some cheesy beeping, and a really bad computerised teletype message saying simply 'Sigue Sigue Sputnik'. Mockery, no doubt, of the fact that the soviets caused great paranoia when they got the first man made satellite into orbit, didn't tell the yanks what it did, when all it actually did was transmitted a basic message every time it passed over the US. This allegedly caused great frustration in the US where it was widely believe that there was far more to Sputnik 1 than a simple high tech equivalent of the two fingered salute.:)

      Here we go.

        In a similar vein....

Sends a powerful message about the futility of war and how it ruins lives.

As a young man, I once spent the entire thrashy part of Angel of Death without any part of me touching the floor. I'd fallen while 'moshing', and my fellow metalheads had caught me (despite the outwardly hostile appearance, most metalheads are actually nice people). Having caught me to prevent me cracking the back of my head on the floor, I was then physically thrown into the crowd, and for a couple of minutes I was simply passed about over people heads. Its one of my favourite memories that is:)

Angel of Death used to be my favourite song of all time, until I looked up the lyrics. I only managed to read the first verse or so, before I couldn't bring myself to read any more. I think its right that the we're not allowed to forget the horrors of WW2. As long as it remains in the collective consciousness, there's a chance it wont be allowed to happen again, but Slayers portrayal of events is very, very graphic.

First discovered this band around 1978, and they are still a firm favourite (and still going!)

Couldn't agree more, the music maybe agressive and the look too, but we are a solid bunch, and we stick together.

I have put a link to the lyrics if anyone wants to know what Clueless means about the graphic nature.

WARNING - there are no swear words, BUT, they are detailed in the expression of horror of the Nazis during WWII. Those of a fairer disposition may wish to avoid

Not all Metal / Heavy Rock is about the darker side, some is about the best things in life.....
