I used to live just down the road from that and passed it every day.

Personally (and being very loyal :heehee: ) I think it is fabulous for their local economy - particularly as the area is known for being one of the most deprived economies in the South East.

I've watched the first episode, two more to go :dbgrtmb:

Thanks for the heads up, Jenny, :goodpost: I would probably have missed it if I hadn't seen this thread

I'm with you on that. There is clearly a demand for Tomatoes mid winter, and better we burn energy in the UK to be self sufficient that importing from distant shores, particularly in that it stops us becoming reliant on a foreign country that might then hold us to ransom - or have a civil war.

:heehee: You missed the bit where I said that I hate technology, as I find most of it disappointing.

Digital TV recording (doesn't have to be Sky, but I think their's is very good), and Sonos whole-house music, are two exceptions.

I've just upgraded my old Nokia 9110i phone (screen became too scratched to read) for an iPhone 5. Doesn't measure up to my expectations based on how the kids, and everyone around me, has raved about it. I can't read it without my reading glasses on (obviously that's not everyone's probably, but its a problem compared to the old one), I can't type accurately on it - the kids manage so maybe that is me - and I can't believe how slow it is (on WiFi) - I had assumed all the hype about it being a small screen PC replacement meant it was fully sorted. Can't get a phone signal in most of the house - never had a problem with the Nokia, same service provider etc. ... the list goes on.

And don't get me started on how far short the gadgets in the car fall of my expectations. Rain sensors - useless. Fog lights that come on individually when you turn at slow speeds - handy, for sure - look stupid manoeuvring in the supermarket carpark, and whenever I arrive at anyone's house they always say "One of your fog lights is not working" <sigh>. I can't believe how rubbish the inbuilt SatNav that Volkswagen have chosen - would have expected them to pick best-of-bread rather than anything-will-do. The parking sensors are a PITA - the front sensors going off whilst reversing - better software would be able to work out if I was about to hit something because the front was swinging round, and ignore the objects I am reversing away from. Its a Blue Motion Golf and the fuel economy is way off my expectation (we got better economy from the Scirocco we had before which didn't have Blue Motion)

So praise from me on technology is a rare beast :)

I only caught one episode, as I have been strapped to a near smoking laptop building the biggest of the three new databases for work - really good to see a positive angle on British farming and British produce :blue thumb:

If it were up to me, this folly of a railway that seems to be getting more expensive by the hour would be abandoned and all the money (currently around £90bn I hear) would be used for housing, agriculture and making decent roads.

I meant more along the lines of the massive heated green house than how it was growing hydroponically I have a allotment and believe in no chemicals or artificial feeds
