Joolzs , that`s not a cutting but a plants from seeds , it will grow big and stronger , mine is even taller then the older brugs ....
They've shredded some of mine, and the Solanum laciniatum beside it, plus some Leonotis Nepetifolia nearby :(
I have had one flower on a tiny Sanguinea I bought from the Plant Centre where I 'work'. it is only just over a foot high, the Y is very low. I didn't know they could break so far down. The flower hasn't opened fully but is now closing up and the leaves are yellowing suddenly, A little disappointed.
I was meaning that my plant is a cutting that you sent me... its almost 6ft tall with the pot its in sal Im going to struggle to fit the pot in the shed for overwintering
I cut mine down quite significantly before I bring them in ... take up too much room otherwise. Don't cut them back below the "Y" - otherwise they will need to grow back to make a new "Y" for lfowering next year.
Its the pot in concerned about, its 2ft wide x 2ft high.. il have to make room somewhere It has to be a shed does it? and definatley not in the greenhouse?i dont have a garage
wow , that`s a really nice size considering that is in a pot , mine is actually taller then your , but is because is in the soil , what happen to the yellow brugmansia???? mine is about to flower soon
Hi sal,the 2 yellow ones are flowering..loads of buds on 1 of them again but they are in smaller pots, next yr i will plant them all out
Joolz, have you thought of taking a top cutting. Next year you'll have a smaller plant that will flower quicker!! As long as you can over winter this cutting frost free?? Wayne
@Wayne - I have a question if I may. My B.sanguinea was out all last winter and has come back from the roots this year. I have several shoots and am wondering if I could divide these shoots up reliably to make individual plants?
Yes wayne i will take cuttings from all three The 3 i have are all cuttings sal sent me last yr,they have performed well seen as im inexperienced with brugs im very pleased i got them flower Its amazed me,i got some sticks in the post from sal, popped them in water to root, planted in compost(as he informed me) and over winter on window ledges they grew a little...then a bit more then before i knew it i need huge pots Brilliant! And the scent, fabulousi wouldnt believe unless id experienced myself ,i have a white datura ive grown from seed from longk in the greenhouse,,again another strong lovely scent, brugs and dats are up there for fragrance
