Cut back and tidied up my Buddleia , then under planted with transplanted Polka Dot plants.

Sorted out potted plants that are going to be overwintered in the outside greenhouse.

Picked some cucumbers and more green beans.

Watered tomatoes, and did a bit of weeding, I am trying to work on one bed at a time, but as I wander around, I spot something and get distracted.

Drop of chilled Magners for me tonight.:ccheers:

That always happens to me, and just when I think I have 'done', I remember what I started out to do and have to finish it off..........

Picked another basket of Tydemans Early Worcester apples today. Now got something over 100 packed and stored. Had extra help today as three and three quarter year old grand daughter helped with the wrapping.
Bumper crop of really big apples this year - and they smell lovely.

Got the teeshirt - I'd wear it if I could remember where it is!

            :heehee: Me too!

Mrs K sends me out to the greenhouse "for a couple of peppers" or the like and the meal is ruined by the time I return having spotted that "that needed a bit of weeding" and "this needed deadheading" ...

Mind you, I haven't managed to be permanently excused from being "sent to the greenhouse for a couple of peppers" ... yet!!

I missed out on curry yesterday - a colleague wanted to go and look at a car, and wanted my company; it did him no good, as he ended up buying the car anyway

So, I have just had a temperature raising chicken and cauliflower curry, and now am going to try and sterilise the remainder.

Curry was lovely thanks Sheal - I lobbed extra spices in for good measure :blue thumb:, and then followed up with a few doses of medicine to kill the bugs.

I'm not too bad really - I'm at that stage where you feel like your head is full of super glue and your chest is being tickled by a feather duster.

A few hours spent hacking at the bramble overgrowth on the bed I plan to tackle next year. Boy, I'd forgotten how steep the bank is there!
Good news is that when I cleared the brambles back I made two discoveries.
                    1. The corkscrew hazel I planted 12 months ago, having grown in a pot for over 10 years, is still alive! (Thought I'd lost it, as it was overrun with brambles)
                    2. There's a lovely cotoneaster on the bank, which is currently covered in lovely berries.

                    Need a pick-me-up now!

Managed to split a Peony shrub, and replanted in a new bed.

Started to tidy the Fuchsias for the winter, I am hoping to take some cuttings just in case.

Swept up a lot of leaves, there will be another lot tomorrow.:autlvs:

Dug out and disposed of the stinking Iris.. and prepared site for 3 x Persicaria Red Dragon and Bowles Golden grasses. Placed a stake in the middle and softly tied in the Persicaria as they are a bit leggy. But the leaf is very attractive and I want to watch it thru; Autumn. I'll take it down to just above the ground for the Winter.
Also went and weeded my " gifted" bed in the town. The ornamental coloured chards are quite big - with main stems as thick as my wrist. The other flowers are still respectable enough not to dig out the bed for Autumn planting yet. I understand there are a lot of bulbs coming my way for me to plant in later. Not that keen as they hinder Spring/ Summer bedding thereafter,
                      Jenny

All garden related activity took place in the kitchen today - made another huge batch of chutney (and this one tastes even better than the first!) I am running out of jars though, so I am going to have to order some more.

I will do, but I have so many green tomatoes in the making that I have just ordered another box of 24. I have had loads of produce from the garden this year, I'm like a bloke who has been run over by a train (chuffed to bits):dancy:

I've still got plenty good ripe ones too, which is really handy as I want to collect more seeds; somewhat embarrassingly, I didn't label the seeds salvaged so far, and although I have a pretty good idea which is which, that is simply not good enough for sharing - I don't want to disappoint any fellow GC'ers, so I will just save more and label them this time :heehee:
