I can't resist a good bargain, Gdnam, no matter where it is!!:heehee: I bought the Rose Generous Gardener for £2 from the Country Plant Nursery just outside Shrewsbury where they have over 30,000 roses and just about every variety you can want. The normal prices are around £16-£25 but Generous Gardener was in the Bargain Corner......too good to miss.:hapydancsmil:

      Me neither.

I have no problem with Aldi, but my local is rubbish for the plants... always has been.

The only "Beef" I have with Aldi regarding their plant stock is their water policy........they don't have one. I been to several branches and some times their plants are turning brown from the heat and lack of water and they must lose thousands of pounds nationwide due to dead stock. I did approach the local Aldi Manager about it and he grimaced, shrugged his shoulders and told me they weren't allowed to water the plants in the Warehouse, in the Store or outside due to the Company's Health and Safety Policy.......crazy. Having said that I taken advantage of it sometimes to get a real bargain by negotiating a price over a under water plant I knew I could recover easily.:snork:

Almost forgot, EXTERMINATED 3 Slugs and 4 Snails !!

A quick before and after of the front extensions (I know it looks silly, but once I get my own way and extend right up to the path.... ) The furthest border goes right around the side of the house near the hedge, but that is my most embarrassing bit so you no get to see... :phew:

              Before

              After
              front_after.jpg
And yes I know the hedge needs a trim...

Potting on ... got lots to do ...

Some hollies going from 1L to 2L. Calculated that I need 40 grown on to large size, in pots, so I can rip out an existing bit of mixed hedge and replace with "Instant"-ish Hollies, in a year or two.

Also got some small Holly seedlings to go from 9cm to 1L ...

... and some Box cuttings in 9cm that need 1L pots ...

... and the last of the Euonymus cuttings from Shiney to pot up into 9cm

I'm doing about 100 pots a day, before it gets dark, but there is more than a week's worth left to do ...

I want to start some seeds off too ...

Mrs Shiney potted on our cuttings of the silver ones the other day. They were completely pot bound with enormous roots! :hate-shocked:
