Thanks buddy! Yup, the runt finally grew up! Considering the wind battered the large dahlias at the bottom which I lost and a few other things gone, I'm chuffed with it!

just looking at the section of fence that's unpainted, its interesting how the dark fencing gives the impression the walls go much further back making the garden seem larger in all

 

Yes I like - that is a very healthy and colourful garden you have al n. The lawn looks in great condition.

My castor oils arnt much bigger and battered by the winds now..do you when to collect the seed please?
I never thought of putting my tube lights in the garden,their in a draw collecting dust! so thanks for the idea (pic 10) x

I've never collected seeds yet from my ricinus as it's the first year I've grown them, anyone else Know?

The tube lights I picked up from costco and I have wired them in around the perimeter of both sets of bi fold doors, I like the effect they give.

 

I have collected seed from Ricinus in the past and found that even after the plant has started dying back after cold weather or frost the seed pods don't split on their own, I dried them and the had to force the pods open to get at the seed , whether this is the norm I don't know but the seed I collected was viable and produced plants the following year
