We finally got some sunshine this afternoon after long, long, lo....ng period of dreary days. Like me, lots of things are out enjoying it.

Comma, they are feeding high up on a clump of ivy. I had to use my camera's full zoom (50x), holding my breath (to keep steady) to take these photos.

Another hawker paid us a dancing visit and stopped for a brief rest on firethorn bush.

Our resident sparrows are out sun bathing. There's a large family of them which lives permanently in this hawthorn hedge.

That's good HsuH - the ivy is staring to blossom and expose stamens. I believe a good source of honey for the bees to store for long Winter months,

No waders at Holes Bay as the tide was right in but a couple of Rock Pipits and Northern Wheatears where hopping about.

@nFrost only the queens left when the colony has finished for the year all the worker bees and the male bees are dead by the end of September unless we have a late Summer, so the mites have to climb on to the queen otherwise they perish.

I was down by the Pond, with my usual mug of tea, in the evening just before the light disappeared into the West with the Sun looking for a Spider who's Web had been damaged by the wind a few days ago. It always takes them a couple of days to decide whether to spin a new Web in a new location or repair the old one but I was hoping to find the Spider easily. To my surprise I found not one but three all within inches of each other. Now normally that doesn't happen and competitors will be fought off......but I think we're nearing the mating time!!! Anyway, I managed to get some shots of them even with a low light and a stiff breeze making the Webs shake and shiver.:snork:

Thanks Armand and Loli, the 'extra 50x optical zoom' was used dropping to 5mp instead of the standard 24x (12mp) so the fine detail is missing. I couldn't get near enough to use the standard zoom and fill the frame.
My camera doesn't do macro very well and I don't have close up rings so I just enjoy looking at yours.:blue thumb::biggrin:
