Is this now an accepted alternative spelling?

    I've seen it on Amazon
    amazon.jpg

    and on Asda's website

    asda.jpg

but worst of all, even the RHS are now using this alternative spelling!

Did you not see the UK has come 22nd out of 24 for literacy in 18 to 24 year old bracket.

      Probably explains......:cry3:

Is that in the use of written English? - Mrs Scrungee has just told me it is was only something like Northern Ireland being worse than GB that prevented us from being last, or second from last.

No, 8 legs would have been 2 deer (numeracy standards also appear to be falling).

Glad I was born in the 60's and had a semi-decent education. My son , bless him was rather neglected at school, as he was never going to be a top achiever and help the League position of the school............... even

In a restaurant last month they were running a promotion and had printed off a "flyer" for each table:

                        "Their Back!"

My son corrected it and he highlighted it to the Manager: "Yes, a few people have corrected it" and wandered off, totally unconcerned :nonofinger:

Now, if an individual isn't hot at spelling, so what? They get their point across and it really doesn't make a jot of difference.

However, if it is a business, it does make me think twice! If a member of staff is making spelling mistakes, the question begs to be asked, who is monitoring their work? If a member of staff is making spelling mistakes and it is not picked up by their supervisor, surely that highlights two training needs? :dunno:

The corporate world is moving faster and faster to keep up with the Global economy, I understand that, but the basics need to be in place, and monitored!
