Liquorice Vodka !!

Just made a small bottle to hopefully have at Christmas (if I can wait that long)

Go careful there, Liqourice is 50 times sweeter than sugar, can make you think that what you're drinking is not as strong as it really is. Had a few friends come a cropper on my Liquorice ginger wine

 

It does sound nice, but to add to Zig's warning, I'm pretty sure liquorice has many and varied physiological effects on the body. It is toxic in high concentrations, but I guess you'd need a lot to do much harm. I'd be more worried about its laxative effective if I was consuming it at a party.

 

Is it made using liquorice root or the sweets? Sounds interesting. I made Skittles Vodka for a mates wedding party earlier this year. It was very popular with all bottles empty within the hour! Straight out the freezer it went down like fruit juice but with the effects of neat vodka......

Just took a bottle of vodka and pontefract cakes.

Had a little taste today, already good, had a go at chewing the pontefract, and that was good as well.

 

I love pointer act cakes. How many do you use for 1 bottle and how long do you soak them for?

I think I'd be far more worried about the affects of vodka than the liquorice

I dunno. Acts of monumental stupidity that seemed like a good idea at the time, punctuated with random bouts of projectile vomiting are to be expected at a good party. Fouling ones underwear is, in my experience at least, slightly less ordinary. I've heard of it happening, but never witnessed or experienced it myself.

 

Undie fouling is the very least of concerns *if* the vodka consumption outweighs the liquorice one (loss of liver/kidney/brain function to name a few ... but all of which could, potentially, lead to undie fouling - one way or another )

 

I put about 15 cakes in a 750ml bottle of Vodka.

 

I don't know about putting pontefract cake's in Vodka,but rasps. yes please,what a drink this makes.
