PM me your address and I'll send you some (last year's but I expect it will be OK). I bought 10g from Moles Seeds - looks like it would be enough for an acre !!

It was really cold today. I didn't think the squashes would do anymore on the plants so I harvested them all. After I left some to the owner of my veggie plot, brought the remaining ones home to sit in the sun.

Don't think I've got as many fruits as last year but sone of them are much bigger, especially the butternuts. Weighed the 2 big butternut - 6lb9oz and 6lb3oz, first time ever to have them this size:dbgrtmb:

I had to take one of the big ones out because it had started to bolt. It is nowhere near a football size (remind me again what a football size is?:heehee:) .... it weighs 2lb4oz :blue thumb:. I assume those in the ground are still growing?

Went for a wander around the local, 'wild' walnut trees this afternoon:

                  Made a start

                  walnuts.jpg

Lots more to shell (and my fingers are getting stained again)

                  walnuts1.jpg

So lots of walnut cookies for both us and to give away as Xmas presents. Mrs Scrungee is thinking of making walnut pesto sauce - does anybody have a good recipe?

6lbs of nuts (£3.34/lb at Tesco), must get cracking. Will vacuum pack and keep them in the freezer.
