    I put some Dyson's Crimson in the Seed Swap Simbad. Well done you for getting it to germinate and flower all in one season. Mine survived outdoors last Winter - maybe more by luck that judgement and it's in the border now and staying there. I will go and see if there's any seed this year. I gathered in November last year and have one seed left. I am going to keep it and try and germinate it next Spring. Isn't it a lovely colour when the sun shines on it,
    Jenny

    @nibor will be able to tell us if it's hardy..:dbgrtmb:

      According to Dysons site it should be, but I would not want to be responsible for you losing this.............

        Super Simbad, such large blooms on The Veronica in comparison to the varieties I have, lovely. While rushing in from the car yesterday trying not to get soaked:rolleyespink: I spotted what I thought was my Mahonia Charity getting close to flowering (not quite as close as yours tho), looks like they will have finished their display before that time beginning with C which I refuse to mention!

        Thankyou Jenny :) I thought it may have been you that put the seeds in as I also have some lovely pale blue salvia patens that I know you put in, vaguely remember them being in similar envelopes ;), if yours survived I might risk it then but I'll ask nibor on the salvia thread to as it is as you say a lovely red and I don't want to loose it.
        Thanks silu that veronica was a new purchase a few weeks ago, funny you should say that this mahonia always used to flower around Ch*******:heehee: but the past couple of years its been much earlier for some reason, OH moans about it a bit, there's a path behind it and its got so large now he gets stabbed every time he walks past :oopss:, its such a lovely shape though I'm scared of pruning it and spoiling it

        I've had what you might call an "interesting" week and so I've not had much time to wander around the garden to take some shots. But I did take some shots last Sunday and a quick check in the garden tells it still looks the same.:snork:

          Still lots of good, late colour there Armandii. Isn't the phlox a gloriously pink pink?

            Yes, Jenny, I've got another pink Phlox which, to me, is more garish and not as good:

            But it does provide contrast!!:dunno::snork:

              Loving the Echinops!
              Thought that I had got rid of the Phlox last year, but it came back with a vengeance this year!

                Yeah, loli, it's been a good year for Phlox they were late in getting away but when they did they just shot away:hate-shocked::snork:

                The Echinops has been tremendous this year. The Bees have loved it and it has lasted longer than normal.:snork:

                I'm going to try digging it up in a hard frost to see if that works:dunno:

                Just got seeds for Echinops persicus - it's quite a tall species.

                  I understand it's also called Echinops "pungens trauty", longk.:snork: I not sure which variety mine are but they get to around 4' or more in height. I'm also going to make sure I get some Eryngium for next year. I like all the Giganteum varieties like "Silver Ghost" and "Miss Wilmotts's Ghost"........the problem, as ever, is finding the space in the borders:hate-shocked::heehee:

                  I've growing some "Miss Wilmotts's Ghost" from some seed that a kind soul sent me, so if you need some plants next year I can bring them to Shiney's :)
