If you scroll down to the very bottom of the page and look on the left there's a default language choice. English (US), or English (US).

Can we have an English (GB) installed perhaps?

This isn't keeping me awake at nights and if you say no or there's a cost involved I don't mind but Americanisms bother me...

I've been having a look at this since *M* brought it up a while back. It's possible to do, but there's an outside chance I might change the entire forum to Welsh and get locked out of the control panel.

Bit like just before they tested the first atom bomb and there was a slight chance it might start a chain reaction and burn off the World's atmosphere, makes you a little nervous.

It's no big deal, wouldn't change it if it may bugger everything up.

I started to change it, but wasn't quite sure what I should be doing, it wasn't as straight forward as just ticking a box :pcthwack:

I see that the default says English (US) but don't see how it affects anything that I do.

I type what I want, how I want, and it plonks it on the thread exactly as I've typed it. :)

It does, but the red wiggly lines come up under everything with a GB spelling rather than US and it's annoying but ignorable

I don't get any red wiggly lines!

                      Where do they come from?

Am I missing out on something? :frown: :heehee:

You'm probably using a different browser Shiney. I just got a red line under your name as the spellchecker doesn't recognise it.

That's a thought, the wiggly red lines are from the browser spell checker, not GC Loofah.

I've just logged on using I.E. instead of Chrome and its not picking up on any words like colour or neighbours.

Back on Chrome now, and it is picking up on colour & neighbours.

So Chrome must be set to English U.S.

If we changed GC to real English, I think it would actually change the spellings from neighbours to neighbors.

It would mess Redstar right up :snork:
