    Thought i'd climb the highest hill on the South Coast today.

    Well, a half hour walk from the car park anyway :snork:

    I did once run up it from Seatown, but that was 1976 :biggrin:

                    Is Golden Cap the highest point along all the south coast ? I know England ,as opposed to Wales and Scotland , only has what can be described as large lumps, which we tend to call "mountains". So how high is Golden cap ?

                      627 feet, so not a record breaker, but not bad considering it was once on the sea bed. If you look around that part of Dorset you'll notice the tops of the hills are all roughly at the same height.

                      Thats the level the land was after a huge uplift. Since then the rivers have carved the valleys out leaving the hills standing proud.
