Barometer has dropped. Raining with determination now, one or two gusts,

Poor Mr Fish though. Is he not a scapegoat? Did he forecast the weather or did he just present the data?

I've long suspected that Michael Fish got a bit of an unfair deal on that one. Here is a video from the BBC that gives a bit more of the picture.

                  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19923565

In you can see in that one that the isobars do look more threatening on the other side of the channel, just as Michael Fish said, so it does look to me like he was working with bad data rather than him personally getting it very wrong.

Check out this article on the BBC. The stupidity of some people both infuriates and upsets me sometimes.

                  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24694139

"I know, there's a massive storm forecast, lets go and stand on the harbour wall, or right at the water line on the beach, or go kite surfing in it, or, worse, lets take a photo of our four year old son playing in the sea spray and foam blowing ashore".

Why can't people just use a bit of common sense and stay away from the sea when there's a storm on. Its not like people can say they didn't realise the risk. Quite apart from common sense telling us that that massive body of water is considerably more powerful than us, there's been days of high profile warnings.

And then they expect other people to risk their lives to save them.
