We had a couple of gusts in the night but at the moment no wind at all although at 5am it was lashing it down and don't know if we have more winds to come as it gets lighter so it is a question of wait and see:biggrin:Will be interesting to see what the news shows as we saw a bit of damage on the news last evening:eeew:

Hope everyone has come through this ok with minimal damage to gardens and greenhouses and also us fragile humans:snork:

PS It is 5.42am and now lashing it down here again:eeew:

All good here, got woke up at 3.30 but it was a steady wind, not gusty. Then the power went out.

Not been out yet but can't see any damage out of the window.

Midnight was ok, no rain and little to no wind. 3am was light rain with again, little to no wind. 7am is even lighter rain but a little more gusty but no more than normal. It seems to have missed us *touch wood*
I've just seen some pics of the south though, hope everyone's ok.

Hope all you Southeners are ok. We up here in Scotland seem to have missed the action for once! We have no wind at all atm but sure there will be an occasion soon to "make up" for missing this storm. Fingers crossed nobody is hurt and the damage not too bad.

The wind has gradually picked up over the past couple of hours and it is now getting seriously windy here.
As I look out of the window right now, trees are waving about wildly in the wind, leaves flying everywhere and there is a steady gale.
Local radio is forecasting the strongest winds here to be over the next couple of hours.
Been out in the garden first thing to feed the hens, everything intact so far, lets hope it stays that way.

Reports of trees down all over the county, one car destroyed in Salisbury but no casualties reported in Somerset.

No news about the lad that was swept out to sea

Don't stand sideways to it, point that nose directly into the wind Man.

All is tickety boo in Battle. Power cuts during the night and still occurring at 6.45am but it has quietened down significantly now and can see no damage outside.
OH's cap blew off in to the Almonry garden yesterday morning and has spent the night in a deep herbaceous border ...:heehee:. The entrance had been securely sealed on Sunday in anticipation of the storm so I couldn't go in and get it.

There were fears it might change its path and head on down to us. After two 'ciclogenesis explosivas' (as they call them here) in the last 4 years, with gusts of 210 k/h recorded, I hope not! They are pretty scary! Hope everyone is okay over there! :grphg:

One fence panel came off (the end one that is screwed to the house at one end), and a small branch broken off my buddleia tree - otherwise, its been fine. It was blowy overnight, with the odd strong gust of wind, but nothing to write home about really.
