I'm glad she is back with her owner, it's just a shame the owner can't be bothered to ensure all of her dogs are accounted for and settled before going to bed! Well done Detective Woo :dbgrtmb:

Unbelievable! How can you not realise one of your dogs isn't inside at night, irrespective of colour! She must be a breeder, and one of those who views her dogs as a commodity rather than a loving furry friend. All's well that ends well, but slightly annoying as well. Sorry Woo!

From what you say I would think she is a breeder, couldn`t care less about the dogs welfare, shame on her.:doggieshmooze:

So she couldn't even count to 5 :dunno:

I'd like to say what I think of her, but moderator standards of behavior and all that

          Well done though Woo :dbgrtmb:

The recommended route is Dog Warden first, as they are legally responsible for lost/strays :) This can be achieved with simply a 'phone call. No experience of them, so can't comment on how 'bureaucratic' the process is, or isn't.

Taking a stray animal to a vet to have their microchip read is:
                    a) more time/expense on the part of the "finder" (travelling to a vets) and unnecessary.
                    b) could be putting the finder at risk - some animals do not travel well and may react badly to that
                    c) is flawed as a reliable route: the information on the microchip could be outdated for a number of reasons:
                    • owners moved house, didn't update
                    • ownership has changed and information was not updated
                    • ownership has altered on more than one occasion
Each to their own, of course, but I shall never recommend it as a first port of call not only for the reasons above, but also because ... not all "finders" may have the means to take a stray to a vet.

All good points :) I never meant to preach or anything, but speaking as someone who works with lost animals, it's the one I'd go for. Some vets travel to you. Certainly there are pros and cons with all three methods, but having worked for the police, that would be the biggest pain the backside ;)
I certainly don't want to lock horns with anyone here :)

Good evening all my friends and thank you for all your posts,I have made some enquires and she is indeed a breeder of Pugs and has I believe about 12 Pugs in total at this moment in time,if I wasn't such a liberal and a live and let live kind of Owl I would have taken it further,it was such a small house and garden;)

Breeder? not a very reputable one then, I guess.
Would have been interesting to know if the dog was actually chipped.
Did you miss spell that, perhaps you meant bleeder.
