Pulled up some dead annuals, dead headed roses and planted some iris and tulip bulbs. I can never remember where old bulbs are planted so had to replant some bluebells I'd inadvertantly dug up when planting the tulips! I swear they move around underground - sure they weren't there last year :snork: There are quite a lot of bulbs shooting now, snowdrops for definite and looks like some daffs are too - is that normal? (for the daffs, I mean)

Cut and scarified two lawns. Diverted the water from greenhouse roof from water butt direct to drain and drained the butt. Picked final courgette.
Picking up scores of pears is a daily chore and am adding them to compost heap along with the moss from the lawns and shredded leaves from the pear tree.
Scooped cat poop from front lawn and from one veg bed and chucked it over fence into neighbour's unkempt (knee high) "lawn".

Been to work today, so too dark to do any gardening when I get home now. From tomorrow I have a nice long weekend, so planning to help build a log store, dig up a couple of leeks for tea, and yes...rake up leaves!! :blue thumb:

Yesterday was clearing the edge of the drive from weeds/leaves; chopping up branches that were taken off the top of the hedge weeks ago; weeding the new herb bed; setting up a cold frame on an area of the herb bed, so I can have rocket for longer :-), and weeding an area I plan to work on properly next year.
Oh, and also had my first trip to the local tip. Great fun and excitement, complete with comic running around my car to trigger the sensor to raise the barrier (right-hand drive car in Belgium). Pleased that I've finally plucked up the courage to go, and I can feel a tidier garden coming on!

Drying my covering up sheets before putting them away until next year as my tomatoes and beans are now all finished. I thought I'd leave this one up overnight ........

All fruit trees now have a buffer of plant-free soil around the base of their trunks, beds cleared.

If necessary, I could say that the garden has been "put to bed" now, so all extra work is a bonus!

Picked the last of the toms in the polytunnel and put in boxes in greenhouse (double glazed) to ripen. Still got 4 or 5 cucs in the tunnel, but with the night temp down to 0.3C last night doubt if they'll last long.
Added another layer of pears and shredded leaves to compost heap along with dozens of worms from one of the worm bins.

Finally got around to sussing out exactly how much damage my blow away has suffered. Very little considering, just 4 broken connectors and a small tear in the door.

                          Now to find some replacements......

Picked some runner beans. I was going to put a photograph in the "What's looking good in November" thread, but I was put off by the word "Good" :heehee:

Definitely the last pick of the season ...
