@fat controller ....i love curried pumpkin soup so i'll be making a sea of it and freezing it
It wasn't necessary for me to get so many but i was so fussy to get a bargain i couldn't resist

 

Here you go Dave - sixpence coin and my favourite a 3 pence coin , the threpuny joey ! Written as 6d and 3 d . The d stood for Dinarius an old Roman coin . The pound shillings and pence were termed as L S D ,librae, solidi, denarii all from Roman weights and coins.

 

Pumpkin is far tastier than courgettes in a veggie lasagne. Probably works as well in a meaty one.

 

Fab recipe, have cooked it hundreds of times.

If wonder if the users of a foodbank would have been grateful if somebody donated a van load of 10p pumpkins for them to eat over the next month or so?

 

Had hoped to pick up a couple of pumpkins from Tesco this morning, all gone. Replaced by Christmas stuff already.

Weren't people always skint, and had to work really hard in the good old days

 

I heard tell today that a certain supermarket dumped what was left over....how true that is i can't say...if so it just gives me more reasons not to shop there

 

They get no help from me Zigs, they've had to rely on the neighbours.
