This holly tree stopped 100mm or 4 inches from smashing down my new greenhouse image.jpg

I'd go and get a lottery ticket if I were you. You might be on a roll. Very lucky indeed! :)

:yikes: Scary. Hope you can get it removed soon. When we moved in here we got an old tree chopped down that was about 80' tall and only 20' from the house. Probably seemed a good idea when they planted the little sapling 50 years ago.......

Wow, that looks like an extreme case of phototropism to me.

That's going to be a extremely tricky (expensive?) job for tree surgeons to remove that
tree without smashing up your new greenhouse underneath. I've got a similar job to carry out, but at least the tree is upright and the greenhouse underneath is derelict. Probably best to check that out ASAP and whether you should be removing stuff like your growlights before that tree which is hanging overhead like the sword of Damocles falls in order to mitigate any potential damage.

P.S. Does your household insurance cover you against all the removal costs of that tree in it's current state, or do you need to wait until it actually falls on your greenhouse to be able to claim for a replacement?

I've removed the tree myself with my wife and son,I tied a rope to each branch and chopped small sections out with my pole chainsaw, yes it was very lucky.
