That is the beauty of the Brug - once it's going there's no stopping it! If they are after something smaller, then good old Datura metel. Easily grown as an annual too.

Wow - so many to choose from!

I've just ordered a window box - so will be installing and planting this up. I must admit I do like the idea of 'night scented stock' - sounds like the plant would be ideal. I'll pop into Wilkinson's tomorrow to see if they have any packets of seeds. I understand that this is an annual which needs replanting each year?

I'm starting to think that it would be a good idea to plant some of the other suggested plants in the border around the patio area.

      Thanks for all the responses.:ThankYou:

If you just want the odd packet or two then any local garden centre should do - that would save the postage. Also any time between now and Spring, so it might be the best time for Wilkinsons to be trying to sell them. (Having said that they tend to sell a narrow range of only the more popular seeds, not sure if the ones you want are likely to be on their list, or not).

Hmm ... I wonder if any of the seed companies have free postage? I know that Moles Seeds do, but their minimum packet size is probably sufficient for all the houses in your area!

Decided to go for this instead - I can move it around and its just the right height that it doesn't stop me opening the window fully.

Only took about 3 hours to assemble

My Cestrum nocturnum is currently in flower ( much later than usual) and I've brought it in out if the cold for the winter. The flowers aren't very spectacular, but the fragrance is immense. Almost overpowering in the confined space if my kitchen but It would work perfectly outside a bedroom window. Only thing is for best growth and scent throw it likes nice dry and warm evenings of which we don't get many in the UK!

Very true with regards to the weather it's so changeable. Very few garden birds this year - I put it down to the extended Winter.

Managed to purchase some night scented stock from a garden centre called Van Hage, in Peterborough (visiting relatives this weekend). Nice store - this is one of 3 in the UK so I'm told. Couldn't resist getting some bulbs called 'Honey Lily' or for those of the Latin persuasion Nectaroscordum Siculum. These are apparently bee friendly - they also look fab-u-lous.

I'll keep a look out for the Cestrum nocturnum. I'm committed to getting the garden looking good this Spring - the relatives are coming over for a scrutiny.:spinning:

Nice choice! They are late spring bloomers, so it'll still be too cold to open the window (not that they're overly fragrant).

I've just noticed that you're in North Wales. Get yourself along to Crug Farm!!!!
